Our boy is growing up.....

Today I was in the kitchen cleaning up after lunch. Dustin came through the door and said to me "can I have the rent check??" The rest of the conversation went a little like this...
Me: Why??
Dustin: Because I am going to take it to Carole ( who we rent the house from) My Dad said it's ok. (Carole lives behind his but there are some corrals and a field seperating the 2 houses)
Me: How are you going to get there??
Dustin: My fourwheeler
Me:Ok
Dustin: Just a minute I want to get a treat for her (so he gets her a hard strawberry candy)
(I walk outside with him and ask Jared if he thinks this is a good idea)
Jared: Ya he is a big boy he can do it

So of goes Dustin to Carole's we watch him until he returns

He comes back and says he gave her the check and the treat
Carole: Thank you... Did you get that fourwheeler for Christmas??
Dustin: No my Mom and Dad bought it for me a long time ago
Carole: Did you know your wagon is upside down?
Dustin: Ya I know I always pull it like that ( the wagon is not heavy enough and just bounces around until it flips over and he just drags it...he just loves the idea of pulling something)
Carole: well Thank you neighbor
Anyway I thought this was way to cute not to post... now he thinks he has all the freedom in the world...wonder where he will want to go next?? On the very bottom picture the big tree in the background is Carole's house.

Sneeky

Lately we have a very mobile girl on our hands it has been very nice except it has got her into some trouble. Once she is caught she tries to hide her face anyway she can. MaKaylee also likes to get into Daisee our dogs cage and shut her self in, she loves Dustin's box of Lego's and makes sure every last one of them is thrown out. She is learning to stand up without holding onto anything she balances her self from 30 seconds to a minute. She gains more and more confidence everyday. She has taken around 10 steps at a time. I don't have many pictures of her walking yet but will work on them this weekend.

Tear Duct Surgery

On January 7Th we was able to get MaKaylee's tear ducts cleared!! It was a very short process approx. 10 minutes. They clear the duct with a small wire making sure it is clear all the way to the nose. The hardest part was coming out of anesthesia. They told us she would have no pain and there was no need to give her any Tylenol. I was pretty amazed she was pretty pleasant after she took a short nap and didn't seem to bother her the rest of the day. So far we have had a goupy eye free little girl!! Here are a few pictures of the day.

Halloween Pictures... a very late post!

A very late post of Halloween costumes... Dustin was a Cop and MaKaylee a Lady Bug. We went to the trunk-or-treat at the church and enjoyed food and games and lots of candy of course!! We tried making Orange carmel corn for Dustin at pre-school but ended up cooking it to long and it was very chewy. I told Dustin not to tell the kids who made it just in case they broke their teeth. I also had a fun time doing MaKaylee's hair probably much more fun than she did!!

A boy it is!!

On Monday we went the the fetal medicine center @ St. Lukes we had a ultrasound done to see if there was any major health concerns with our 3rd... my heart was just pounding the whole time especailly when she went to the heart I was so nervous. After a 2 hour screen we were told that there was no concerns to be worried about at this time!! We sighed in relief. We will be having another boy due on the 25th of March. Dustin was right again!!! We are so greatful for the children we have been blessed with this far... we are truly blessed!!

No glasses but another surgery...

Last week we seen MaKaylee's eye doctor and were greatful to find out she does not need glasses wahoo!! She will be needing a Tear Duct surgery her eyes when she wakes up are all goupy and swollen shut. It should be a simple procedure of putting her out and flushing the duct out should take care of it for good. Well this method works 90% of the time the other 10% have to go back in and have a plastic shunt to make it drain correctly. It should be a in and out surgery and will take place in December.

Little Miss curly Q

I got a wild hair a few days back and decided I would try and curl MaKaylee's hair. Well 30 minutes later with the bathroom door shut and chasing her from one end to the other of the bathroom... and the hardest part trying not to let her reach up and burn her self with the iron. The end result turned out pretty darn cute!!What do you think??

Pumpkin Patch

Last week we were traveling home from Oregon and stopped at a cute little fruit stand that had a pumpkin patch. We were able to go out on a fun ride out to the pumpkin patch and also got some veggies and apples before the season ends. The kids had a fun time and were excited to pick there own pumpkins out.

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins this year at our house was a hit... Dustin was content as long as his Mom could carve any pattern of his choice!! He thought it looked easy hours later still trying to figure it out. The pumpkin guts were a hit for MaKaylee she liked the slime and gooeniess of the insides of the pumpkin. My favorite was watching her stick her head into the pumpkin like it was really big and deep. Later on we lit candles and watched them glow the white ones were the funnest to look at. Happy Halloween everyone!!

Down Syndrome Awareness

Up until March 29, 2009 the words Down Syndrome had absolutley no meaning to me. Our daughter MaKaylee was born blue and her temperture was not stable 9 hours later we were told our daughter would need to be transfered to a to a facility with a NICU. Later finding out that sweet angel had a heart defect(complete AV Canal). After finding this out we were still unsure what had to be done to repair this defect or if it could even be fixed. We finally met with MaKaylee's cardioligost Dr. Womack. He did a very great job at calming our fears until he said a ??% of babies born with heart defects have Down Syndrome my heart stopped... the thoughts going through my mind where "why me I know nothing" and "how could this happen to me I can't handle this" a 5 day stay in the NICU and we were sent home. Still wondering and in complete shock while falling in love with her sweet face and her pudgy body more each day. Almost two years later a heart surgery, a billion doctor visits, therapy and lots of hard work. I know today more than I did before March 29, 09....I know that the joy that comes from these sweet sprits is so incredible words cannot describe. The things she has taught our family may be small and simple things but, to us this it what matters most in life. We Love you MaKaylee!!

Grandma's Special Day!

On the 11 of September we were able to join Grandma Gloria in taking her endowments out. It was a beautiful and peaceful day for all in attendance. We also had the oppurtunity to visit with family that we don't get to see very often. Grandpa and Grandma treated us all to a nice dinner afterwards. We love you Grandma!!

Onions, Onions, Onions......

This summer has been full of you know what!! We have been at a steady pace since the end of August. We are now just about half way done. The onions have to be sorted through and either boxed or bagged then stacked on pallets and shipped. The work is done with the help of 16 hispanic workers. We are hoping to be done in about 2 weeks. It has been fun but we are looking forward to it be done.
